Why Professional Tree Removal Matters

A tree removal that goes wrong in Orlando has two casualties. The immediate one is whatever is in the tree’s path: rooflines, pool cages, or the neighbor’s fence. The longer casualty is the insurance claim that comes back denied when the homeowner-hired crew is found negligent.

Orlando’s sandy, shallow-root soil turns trees that appear stable into liabilities. A mature slash pine in College Park or a sprawling live oak in Winter Park can uproot with little warning. Hurricane season runs June through November, and trees homeowners planned to address in spring become roofing bills by September.

Ranger Tree Care is veteran-led and woman-owned. Adam and Stephanie Brown built Ranger on the standard they held in Army service: complete the job correctly, communicate what’s happening at every stage, and don’t leave a problem behind. FEMA-contracted, ISA-certified arborist on staff, and fully insured including workers’ compensation.

Residential Tree Removal in Orlando

Baldwin Park, College Park, Thornton Park, and Winter Park share a challenge: mature canopy trees that have grown close to homes, fences, and driveways over decades. Most homeowners recognize the problem after a branch falls or a large root starts lifting pavement. Fewer act before something happens.

Ranger works with both groups. Homeowners with a hazard get a site assessment, Orange County permits when required, and a crew equipped for the specific job. Sellers preparing a home for the market get trees cleared on a schedule that works with their listing timeline.

Some calls come from homeowners who’ve already had one crew decline the job. For trees too large or too close to structures for a standard crew to manage, large tree removal in Orlando for oaks and pines over 60 feet covers the jobs others turn down. Every removal is backed by full liability insurance and workers’ compensation, and the completed job is documented.

Ranger Tree Care did a fantastic job protecting my house from a tree that was weakened and rotting. Initially, I wanted to trim only a portion of the tree, but they pointed out that it was splitting and was reaching a point at which it would be dangerous during a storm. Following their recommendations, I decided to cut the tree entirely. Once it was cut, the internal rot showed itself, and it was clear that their recommendations were spot on. While their professionalism and expertise were greatly appreciated, one notable thing upon completion was that they did a fantastic job cleaning up, doing their best to leave everything the way it was before they arrived, minus the tree. Thank you, Kevin, Melanie, Stephanie, and your tree-cutting professionals!

I had a very good experience with Ranger Tree Care. Prompt response, detailed estimate with photos of work to be done received same-day, fair price and fast scheduling. Took down large dead tree. Crew arrived on time, worked as a team. Office staff was courteous and efficient. Impressive clean-up afterward; hardly any sign they'd been here. Took care not to damage lawn sprinklers. Tree limbs, trunk & debris hauled away as promised. Safety priority - insurance document included with estimate. Professional operation.

I live in WNC and Ranger Tree Care was part of the crew that came out to our house to remove debris from Hurricane Helene. Our job involved half a dozen root balls, all in precarious locations (near septic, well, and a large buried propane tank). I am very grateful for the amount of care and attention that went into the work they did. I'd encourage anyone who lives in their FL service area to support this veteran-owned business. As someone who has worked with 6 different tree services in the last 12 months, I would hire this crew in a heartbeat!

A crew of 4 professionals came to my house to remove a very tall bismark palm tree which was too close to my house. They came one day after I asked them to come. They quickly had the tree down and cut it into pieces and removed every last leaf. They swept my driveway clean and blew all dirt away. I couldn't be happier. They has the best price of the 4 companies I contacted. I told the owner I couldn't pay for 2 more weeks because that's when I get my social security check. They came anyway. Now that is top notch service. I highly, highly recommend them. Very polite and efficient.

We had a great experience with Ranger Tree Care, who provided tree trimming services for large oak and mango trees as well as large canary Island date palms on our property. The estimate was clear and detailed and the pricing competitive. They arrived on the day and time agreed to and were professional, courteous, and effective. Adam was on site himself, performing and supervising the others. It was very clear this is a customer-oriented company that is willing to go the extra mile to acheive complete customer satisfaction. When my wife was not totally pleased with the appearance of the canary palms, Adam spent considerable additional time to perform additional shaping to achieve her full satisfaction. They completely cleaned up the premises and hauled away all the debris. The final results of all their work was excellent. We will definitely use them again.

Commercial Tree Removal in Orlando

Property managers and HOA boards in Dr. Phillips, Lake Nona, and across Orange County oversee properties where one failed removal creates liability across multiple owners. Commercial work requires more than a capable crew. It requires coordination, compliance documentation, and a crew that remains accountable after the last piece of debris leaves the site.

Standard residential crews don’t carry what commercial jobs demand. Insurance requirements and permit scope both differ. When a storm passes through a 200-unit community and a dozen trees need assessment and removal inside 48 hours, the difference between an equipped crew and an under-resourced one becomes visible fast.

Ranger holds FEMA contracts for storm response. That means commercial-scale coordination, ANSI A300 and OSHA compliance, and full documentation for property records and liability protection. For development sites needing pre-construction clearing, land clearing in Orlando prepares development sites after trees come down covers the full scope. Property managers receive written documentation with every proposal and a single point of contact from estimate to cleanup.

Debris Haul-Out After Tree Removal

Once the tree is down, the job is not finished. A complete tree removal in Orlando produces trunk sections, limb debris, and chips that need to leave the property or be processed on site. Most homeowners want the site cleared completely. We take everything.

Our crews remove everything: trunk rounds, branches, brush, and chips. Homeowners who want to keep material for firewood or garden mulch can have it staged in a designated area. Everyone else gets a clean site.

Stump grinding removes the remaining root system after tree removal, preventing regrowth and root decay that attracts fungal rot and insects over time. Grinding can be scheduled with the same visit or as a follow-up, depending on the scope of the job.

Crane & Heavy Equipment for Tree Removal

Most residential removals near structures require controlled descent, not freefall. When a tree sits within striking distance of a pool cage, screen enclosure, or roofline, directional cutting alone is not sufficient. Crane-assisted removal lets operators rig each section and lower it in a controlled sequence, keeping weight off structures throughout the job.

Ranger owns and operates its equipment fleet: bucket trucks, cranes, and ground support equipment for debris management. Crane operators are certified and work under OSHA protocols on every lift. Ranger doesn’t subcontract equipment or bring in operators working on unfamiliar machines.

A veteran-led crew understands the difference between getting the job done and getting it done correctly. When a tree’s position makes standard removal techniques insufficient, the crane is the right tool, not a premium option.

Environmental Responsibility

Tree removal in Orlando can intersect with protected habitat before the first cut. Gopher tortoises occupy undeveloped lots across Orange County, and federal law prohibits disturbing active burrows without a permit. Ranger identifies active burrows before ground work begins and coordinates the required relocation process.

After removal, bare soil on Orlando’s sandy lots erodes quickly, especially near water features during the rainy season. We include soil stabilization review on jobs where root extraction leaves bare soil on the site.

Debris is chipped, recycled, or hauled off-site. Ranger does not use chemical treatments that could affect Orlando’s groundwater or the water quality around the Butler Chain of Lakes and Lake Conway. Free environmental consultations are available for larger multi-tree jobs and pre-construction clearing projects.

Our Process

Working with Ranger Tree Care is straightforward, organized, and built around your schedule:

Homeowners can rest easy, you’ll always know what’s happening next.

HOA & Permit Navigation

Orange County requires removal permits for trees classified as protected or heritage species, measured by trunk diameter and species classification. Requirements vary by municipality, and HOA covenants in communities like Celebration, Windermere, and Dr. Phillips often add restrictions beyond county code. HOA approval may be required before work begins, even on private lots.

Ranger handles all permit applications and coordinates with HOA management companies when written approval is needed. Every completed job includes a documentation package: proof of insurance, permit copies, job photos, and compliance certificates for ANSI A300 and OSHA standards.

FAQs About Land Clearing

Do I need a permit to remove a tree on my property in Orlando?

Orange County requires removal permits for trees classified as protected or heritage species, measured by trunk diameter and species classification. Requirements also vary by municipality, and HOA covenants may add restrictions beyond county code. Ranger handles permit applications and coordinates with Orange County directly. You don’t need to navigate the process on your own.

Ranger carries full liability insurance covering contractor-caused property damage. Before any equipment moves, we walk the site, identify access routes, and plan the removal to protect your structures. For trees near pools and screen enclosures, crane-assisted removal keeps weight controlled from rigging to the ground. If something unexpected happens, our insurance covers it.

Ranger carries full liability insurance and workers’ compensation on every job. Our policy covers both property damage and crew injuries. Every person working on your property is covered under Ranger’s own policy. You get documentation of our coverage with every proposal.

Everything is hauled off-site unless you want to keep some of the material. Trunk rounds can stay for firewood, chips for mulch, or we take everything. The site is left ready for sod, landscaping, or construction. For trees over 60 feet or jobs with multiple large specimens, we’ll walk through the full haul-out scope during the estimate.

For active structural emergencies, including roof damage and blocked driveways, we respond same-day. After major storms during hurricane season, crews prioritize by severity, with trees on occupied structures getting first response. 24/7 emergency tree removal for fallen trees after Orlando storms is available through our Orlando line at (407) 326-8909.
